DUDE, checkout the NECKA site. I am the president of the New England Custom Knife Assoc. We have hammer-ins at my shop 2 to 3 times a year. We have members in Conn. and RI. You are also welcomed to come to my shop on a Saturday.
 
listen to IG he's the man! smells a little but he's the man, as far as new england goes NECKA is the way to get the best experience and some of the best friends for knifemaking. You'll learn a lot very resourceful group of very helpfull people.

BE ADVISED, if you end up making to IG's house, you had better be prepared for serious ball busting. IG shows no mercy, but it's all in fun (YEAH, RIGHT, SURE!). :rolleyes:

yeah IG will bust your balls but if you can make the trip on a weekend its weel worth it, he's full of good advice and he sure as heII knows how to make damascus
 
We will start you off making cable damascus. We have alot of new cable here and it is one of the easiest to make. That is how I started HammerHead off. I think that I will have him teach you when you come down.:cool:
 
well you might wanna look it up a little bit and get a little understanding of what it basically is. if not me and IG will be able to give you in depth views about it. cable is really nice damascus. its basically steel cable forge welded into a billet, it has a reptilian kind of look to the finished etched blade. i think this weekend coming there might be a few of us doing some damascus, weather permitting
