Hello,
I need some advice.
I just bought a Kershaw 1910 CKT R.A.M.
On the blade is stamped "First Production 1 of 500".
I did not expect to get this when I bought it.

Is this something I should not use, stash away and give to my son 20 yrs from now as a collectable item, or should I just carry it and use it?

I'm not really a "collector" of knives, but I have accumulated several that I've used over the years.
I don't really "need" to use this knife, but I do like it.
I'm inclined to stash it away and buy another for EDC.

Does that "1 of 500" really mean anything to an avid collector?

If it were the first of the five hundred made .. Then yes.. It can mean alot..
All of the first 500 say 1 of 500...
This goes for other models too.

Thanks for the input.
I think I may have to buy another and give this one to my son :)

I see the Kershaw forum is closing....???...and I just found you guys!

I purchased a Schallot 1 of 500 and I posted here the same as you did asking if I got a collectors item or what, and got the same answer as trimcut and svrider gave you. So set it aside if you want just get another and USE it. Its a very nice knife.
Btw I am using my 1 of 500 Schallot.

Dnalsi, welcome to the forums! :) make sure you check youtube to see the many ways to flip it open!:D
