This is a reproduction of a Slip Joint knife found in the 1916 New York Sporting Goods catalog, when David Abercrombie listed his Hunting and fishing gear. With David's alliance with NYSG, Abercrombie sporting products were prominently displayed. This Slip Joint knife was found within. I have learned that these slip-joint knives, generically called "Hobo knives," were popular before WW2. I just ordered this one, $24.95 from Logsdon & Co Historical Outfitters.

Boker has a cheaper hobo knife, similar to the case model. Should be under $50

Boker Magnum, bon appetite model. It comes apart to give you separate fork, knife and spoon and has a bottle opener too.

I have often thought about tossing this A.G. Russell Boxcar Jack in my lunchbox but never got around to it. It doesn’t have a spoon which would certainly be a useful utensil.
Like most Hobo knives, the fork has to be open in order for the halves to separate. That way you can use the blade without worry of the knife coming apart under stress.

I found and ordered this; This is the actual Military issue Hungarian Army cutlery set, made in Hungary, only sold stateside on Amazon.

Note the storage clasp has a P-51 style can opener and a bottle opener.
Looks very similar to the German Army WWII issued mess kit utensils. The same set up was issued after WWII, minus the Nazi Eagles stamp, I have a set of them. might have to get one of these sets too. John
PS I see that big River also sells the German version.
