Howdy gents.

I've done my best to search for this info, but I've come up dry. Nor do I have any stores near me which carry the 192 to go look for myself, so I figured I'd ask here.

What material are the dark spacers between the brass pieces of the 192 Vanguard? I'm assuming a heavy rubber to provide some give for the threaded pommel construction, but curiosity has gotten the best of me.

Thanks in advance for any info!

micarta I thought on wood version?

I originally thought so too, but the more pictures I look at, the more the spacers appear to be slightly concave compared to the surrounding brass, indicative of a softer material (rubber?) wearing away faster on a buffing wheel. They also appear to be more uniformly black than I'd expect from micarta, and seem to vary in thickness.

Pure speculation on my part though, hence my posting here.

I'm guessing a form of rubber. I can almost indent it with my fingernail.
The Vanguard is the knife that first attracted me to Buck.
