I recently inherited this knife and was able to date it from the tang stamp. The knife does not have the small brass pin connecting the two scales in the middle and holding the knife together. Does anyone know if this can be repaired? Also does anyone know the type of bone scales these are? Deer? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can be fixed. Glenn and some of our other knife modin' members could fix it and clean her up for you.

Great. Do you name of this style knife so I can look up some more information on it.?

Looks like a Grandaddy Barlow, but I'm not an expert. A new pin can be fashioned from a piece of brass rod of the appropriate diameter for the hole. It just needs to be peened on both sides to hold it in place. The difficult part is doing this without cracking the bone scales, especially when they are that old. I'd send glenbaad a PM if you want it restored. He'll send it back looking like a new penny, but with more character.

Heres a Glennbad rehandle on an old STAG Ireland grandad barlow.
The original handle was of the hollow plastic half broken and missing type.
I contacted Glen with an idea of re placing the handle using some old bone from a steel that belonged to my granddad.
The steel had snapped off years ago but the bone was good and possibly a similar vintage to your Case .
New bolsters ,pins and handle using very old bone.
hope that gives you an idea of what is possible.:)

Nice looking older Case! In what part of Houston do you live? I am about an hour west of 610.

WWWWHHHHOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

That sucker speaks volumes. More especially since it's glennbad's work. I'm not a big fan of granddaddy barlows or any single blade folders, but that is a beaut.
