I found this guy in a local shop, the blades all walk and talk and the handles are 100% in tact. The main blade is full, though the punch has a couple of small nicks in it. I love this thing, I think I'll go back and get the Dwight Devine one too, it was in as good condition. Let's see your scout knives!

Love the look. The bone looks like it has aged very nicely.

It really has, I soaked it in mineral oil over night and it cleaned right up. I was amazed to see the main blade not ground down to a toothpick. I put an edge on it and it is ready for action, now I just need the guts to put it to use!

That's a beautiful example of a Remington scout knife.

Here is one probably made by Remington, but for a different scouting organization - the Highlander Boys, based in Denver. It's in rough shape, but I don't think many of you have seen one of these.

I really like these original Remingtons.

And although this Ulster has some obvious pitting it still has fantastic snap with half stop on the main blade and is screaming sharp but most of all I just love the bone on it.

I love the Ulster stainless with "CAN OPENER" stamped right on it. What else would somebody think it was?

There was a spoon, but it didn't fold. had a shortish handle. The three pieces came in a brown plastic holder. There was an earlier version with the same three pieces in a leather holder.

I had the Ulster as as a Scout, actually Cub, in 1975-6. Dad taught me how to clean it up and I promptly broke the spring by opening all the blades Ala the demo knife. It was replaced with a five blade (philips head) in carbon w/o the shackle. I really loved that Ulster SS.

By the way, the knife has developed some blade wiggle. Is there any simple way to tighten those trick Schrade bolsters?

Great knives on here. Always loved the Cub (except when I was 9).

Wonderful brace those two! Worn in just the right way and the bone shows solid rich depths that really compliments the steel. Well done!
