1937 Randall ?

An aquaintance who is not really a knife guy, knowing that I make some knives, asked me to help him figure out what he has. An old fellow he did a favor for gave him a knife as a "thank you." He describes it as having Randall on the blade and "37" on the back of the sheath. Friends who saw the knife at a party Saturday night (I could not be there because my family and I were all down with flu) described it as looking sort of "Scagle-like."

I hope to actually see it soon. Is there anything to look for which would indicate a real 1937 Randall? Are there forgeries out there? What might be a reasonable range of values?

Thanks,
Lou

I am not an expert but I would think the number on the sheath stands for a model 3 with 7 inch blade. It would look "Scagle like".

If you could post a picture of the knife and sheath, there are people who visit here who could give a good estimate of the knife's age.

And yes, there are fake Randalls.
