I didn't feel like pulling the old thread to the top again so here are the pics...

At this point it really started pouring so to the garage/shop we go

The top of the handle was really dried out when I got it and started cracking right after I started working on it

Later I tried it out on some seasoned oak, it splits pretty well. It will be a user for sure...(no pics of that)
 
Thank you. Yeah its sharp enough to shave with if you ever needed to but the handle gave me one heck of a time getting fitted because it was so dried out when I got it.
