I own a U.S. 1943 Army machete "used" in world war 2. I would like to know what it might sell for. It is in VERRY good condition, but I sharpened it a little and tried to take some of the rust off. It looks like it was almost never used. It has a case for it in exelent condition.

There is writing on the machete:
Disston
U.S.
1943
And on the Case:
U.S.
Midland
Fabrica Co.
1844

I would be verrrrrry thankfull if someone would tell me about how much this machete would go for. (I beleved it was used in the pacific.) You can E-Mail me at USPatriot2@aol.com

Sheesh -- this is the second inappropriate forum I've seen this post in -- I wonder if it's been posted more places I haven't looked at yet today. This belongs in the Collector's Corner forum:

I'm sure somebody there will know. This forum is for questions about how to make knives -- us bladesmiths don't know anything about the value of old GI machetes. If you wanted to make a duplicate of it we might be able to help you....
