Hey guys, stumbled onto this the other day and thought it was a unique blade shape for an older blade. The only info I got on it was that it was a a salesman piece.... I did alittle research and although it didnt have a model number or original paperwork I found similar models on the internet and found out that it seems to be a 1950's "Sailors rope knife" but all the other pics showed a 1133 on the left side of the blade. It has wood handles with what seems to be nickel liners, with a sheepsfoot blade. A real cool find, Enjoy

Maybe Tooj will chime in and give me a real backround on time it was manufactured and some specs...

Thanks man, I love the handle ergonomics and it has a solid lockup. I'm amazed how it seems to never have been used for such an old knife.

It looks brand-new! Nothing like finding an antique in that condition. I know a lot of guys on this forum love old knives that are beat to hell, but not me. That Kabar is a grand slam.

Oh also wanted to add a cool note. The seller was located in Olean, NY and said that alot of his stock came from overflow from the Kabar plant. Cool thing to know that this could have been sittin in the plant all these years....just waiting for little ol' me haha

that is sweet. looks like a cotton sampler. I love it. I think ill have to find me one

Kabarcamper,

I gave you an explaination of the knife when you posted in the "Ask Toooj" thread.
However, I will give you more info. ...We had a bunch of overflow pieces in our collection. One of our retirees also sells through the internet auction site so we sold the knives to him; now to you. So you have a genuine piece from the KA-BAR collection. That adds little in terms of money but alot of setimental value if you like KA-BARs.

Hope this helps.
