Hi, was looking at buying this knife, they say it's a 1950's Kutmaster, in mint condition. It's going cheap. Is it a genuine antique or was it a mass produced promotion type gas station knife? Kris

Hi Kris, this knife is mine, and I am selling it.
I bought a handful of real nice knives of a member, ...I am keeping most, but I have to sell some, as well as some of my other ones as well to make amends to keep the ones I have bought and kept ( as you do ).

50's is not Antique, it is Vintage....theres a big difference.
Everything is correct about the knife, it is as stated, its a mass produced knife - as most knives are.
Kutmaster would have contracted so many of these knives out with that particular shield for Coca-cola.

WOW That is cool I am not sure of this pieces history but the company made really nice folders back in the day. Good luck and definitely a nice knife.

I was just trying to get some info on the knife that's all, as it looks cool and I'm looking at buying it. Sorry if I got vintage and antique mixed up in my post. Apologies, pic's have been removed. Kris

Hi Kris-hey, there is no apology needed at all, I hope you hang around here -this place is filled with lots of great people who are always willing to help.
The only reason I stated the difference in Antique and Vintage is that some sellers are greedy people who will try to spin as much b/s about a knife to make money.
I am not happy about selling some knives-but if you keep your eyes peeled in here my friend ...

You will find some very nice knives - usually doing EXACTLY the same as what I am doing...you buy a/some new knife/knives...and some must go in order for you to sustain your collection.
I have e-mailed you, and you can ring or e-mail me at any time to chat about knives
