Got this one from a guy who was cleaning out his late uncle's garage. He SAID that his uncle brought it back from Japan where the uncle was stationed during the 60's "before Viet Nam". At least it does have Japan on the main blade (and that's the only info anywhere). How much of the rest of the story is true, ??? All the blades are tight and sharp. The scales are tight and show very little, if any, wear.

11 blades - 4 small ones on one end on the "bottom" and 7 on the "top" --

The requisite tang stamp identification photo:D

Age is about correct, but this was just sold as a camping/utility knife, not as a soldier's knife. Turned out by the thousands. See them all the time on ebay.

Didn't mean to imply it was Army issue. The way the guy I bought it from said it, I took it to mean his uncle bought it while in Japan. So it is a "real Japanese knife" not a "Made in Japan" US sold knife, if you get the distinction.

That is a pretty crazy looking knife. I like it a lot. Never seen one before, but it looks like a fun knife to carry.

No, I was not implying it was a soldier's knife; just the oppositie - never issued to any army as a standard issue. As to whether it was picked up in Japan or made in Japan for US market - could be either. As I said I see them on ebay frequently; even had one a long time ago. If your uncle said he brought it back from Japan, I see no reason to doubt it. Personally, I don't think it is of the quality to carry as a camping or utility knife - at least not as compared to the real Swiss Army Knives.
