1960's Wenger Forrester replacement bail source?

I've just inherited what I believe to be a 1960s Wenger Forrester after clearing out my parents-in-laws house. I have cleaned it up, oiled it and sharpened the blades. The scissors no longer have a spring although the broken end is still in situ, and the bail/shackle is missing. Does anybody know whether there is anywhere I can source a replacement bail?

I hope this thread is dormant rather than dead!

That thread is in deep sleep. Your question is specific and off topic. It needs it's own thread in the appropriate forum. So I moved your post.

I have never seen a bail sold seperately. You could buy a stainless steel rod and bend one yourself fairly easily.

I searched internet for "bail for pocket knife", and one of the first hits was collectorknives.net, stainless bail for knives with lanyard hole. Since they're not an authorized dealer here, I won't post the page link. They're $1.45 for small, $1.50 for large. Read the comments. One poster said they thought the small was ~1mm wire, the large ~1.5mm. No description on overall dimensions. Maybe email them and ask for dimensions? Good luck, and let us know if they work. Btw, I've seen Victorinox dealers listing replacement scissor springs. swissknifeshop has them for $2.50, s, m, and l. I'm sure they can tell you which size you need.

No idea on a proper WENGER bail.
I've seen "universal" replacement bails that snap in place at a couple knife sites online.

Is your Forrester one of the 111 mm models?
If it is, and the scissors use a "V" spring (like my Hercules does) a standard replacement spring for the 91 mm's scissors and pliers is what you need.
If the scissors use a back spring, like my Evo Grip 14, and S-18, you will need to contact Victorinox, to find out if they are honoring Wenger's lifetime warranty, or are willing and able to repair your scissors for a fee.
