I recently inherited a 1975 Case Cheetah (6 1 1 1 1/2 L). It's in horrible condition, and I was hoping I could find out a few things:

1: is the handle bone, delrin, or laminate
2: can I fix the lock back
3: how to clean the blade
4: how to remove corrosion

Naval jelly is a good rust converter. Or sand paper, mag and alum polish, flitz, any polish with remove corrosion and clean up the blade.

Or you could just send it to case. They will polish it up, fix it and sharpen it but I would contact them and check with them they aren't always willing to do repairs, and they will probably charge you for it.

1-The handle is bone. Bone handle Case knives have the shield with a circle around their name. Delrin knives do not.
2&3&4- Send it into Case for the lock repair and spa treatment.

They've never charged me for a repair. Others have reported they don't always have parts, but that's not unusual for an old blade.

I clean up knives with hot soapy water and a tooth brush. Bad rust I use oil and a wooden stick to rub it off. If needed 400-600 grit sand paper. Finish with flitz polish.

It's not so "hard and true" when it comes to the circled "Case" vs. uncircled to ID bone/delrin scales. Here's a pic of my two 62055 pattern knives, jigged delrin on top and jigged bone on bottom. Both have "circled Case" Shields:

I've also been told that the jigging on bone scales differs from delrin in that the delrin is 'jigged' all the way to the end of the scale whereas on bone it is not. (I'd bet that this holds true about as well as the circled vs non circled shield method of scale ID, but I don't know for sure.)

A close-up, brightly-lit still picture of the handles would be helpful. The differences between bone & delrin (& wood laminate) are much easier to see, if examined close-up in bright light. Bone will show translucence & and a glassy depth revealing features below the surface, along with grain/pores. Delrin never shows any translucence or depth, and no grain or pores at all (just like any plastic material).

The oval within the shield is essentially meaningless on the older Case knives (1970s & earlier), in providing any clue about the handle material. I have a couple of Folding Hunters (1965, 1970; 6265 SAB patterns) in the 'Staminawood' laminate handles, both of which have the oval within the shield.

I stand corrected on the shield issue. I just went through some of my knives and found this one. So forget what I said.
