Just came back from a vacation to Nebraska where I was able to trade into a lot of brand new pocket knives by Camillus that I was told by the store manager was ordered from the distributor in 1978. About a dozen different models altogether, pictures will follow later. To those that are interested in this sort of thing, I also was able to obtain several of the red stock boxes that were originally held the knives that were shipped with the four tier display rack.
Don't know if they are worth any more than other common pocket knives by Camillus but I was quite happy with the find.:D

Starting with the vintage stock boxes. The red ones I was told were from the original 1978 order for the display. The #1011 and #4 boxes were later restocks.

Starting at the 1:00 position and going around clockwise, a #14 twin bladed Jackknife, a #91 four bladed congress, #60 yellow handled stockman, #31 twinbladed fisherman, #76 three bladed stockman and a #77 three bladed.

A #22 twinbladed yellow handled Jack, #24 twinbladed white handled Jack, #4 Lockblade, #1011 Sheath knife, #69 three bladed stockman and a #41 twinbladed Muskrat.

All numbers are taken from the knives, as for the descriptions, I tried to use the correct names but I sometimes do substitute the wrong name for some models.

The dealer I got these from has more of most of these knives, if I do not have the stock box there are still more in the display.

i almost cried:D i am beyond jealous...
good score man! the 2 blade fish knife would make a perfect partner to my old #26 hunter, same scale material etc. nice
cheers

Wow
I dig the red boxes
It has that Brady Bunch/Sanford and Son feel to them

I like the big rivets on the yellow handled #60

Nice find
Nebraska huh?
My brother was born in Kimball, Nebraska
I bet Nebraskans have a high per capita knife consumption rate........

Just a followup note, it is surprising how dull these knives were, very few would slice paper. The dealer I got them from has no idea on how to market them, thinks if they are worth less than $50 a piece then they are not worth his time. I had not seen his selection for about 8 years and did not know what was left of the original display. I did check and he did not order any of the "prestige" models from the later years, no Beckers, Cudas, talonites, etc.
Just some ordinary pocket knives, the kind I love to carry.:)

Don't know about per capita consumption, but some of us have been know to wear a few out. In the western 2/3 of the state, folks might tend to use them more than in the rest of the state, but I think almost everyone here has one or two . . .

I'm still wondering what kind of place one must live to "vacation" in Nebraska.

I was born and raised in Nebraska, Fremont area. Now living in Illinois, went back to visit family and friends.
