I have a Buck folding knife that I bought in '81 that I am interested in selling. On the blade is stamped "Buck 112 USA". It has a wood inlayed handle with three brass pins and 1 stainless pin. It came with a black leather sheath, and is in excellent condition (never sharpened). Can you folks tell me in approx. value? Thanks.

Kash,

The knife you descibed sounds like one from before we started adding dates codes to the stamp in 1986. This makes the knife somewhat collectable although not necesarily uncommon.
It kind of falls into the gap of a collectable or just a great using knife. As a using knife, a new 112 retails for about $56, although they can be found for much less.
I hope this helps, maybe some of our members can help out with the collectable value?

Someday soon I plan to sell of a lot of my old user knives on Ebay - not so much for the money, 'cause they're not worth much at all - but just because I'd rather they be owned by someone who will USE them. A good home, as it were. Of course that'll leave me more room in the ole knife drawer for new models! ;-)
