Does anyone know what make of folder the canadian army issued in 1985? I remember it was fairly cheap looking and I lost my in the 3rd week of TQ3. I replaced it with a buck 110, but for some reason I miss the cheap one to this day

Sorry no pic, 85 was a long time ago and at the time I didn't care for the knife. Now I miss it and would like to find another

That would most likely be what it was, I am trying to find one, you know if its still issued?

I've had too much Tequila to follow the thread exactly. But Ontario makes a current version of the knife in the pic. Camillus made the pattern for years and you can usually find a used one on ebay.

Hello

I have a friend that is still in the forces, I am waiting to hear back from him on wether or not he can pick one up. I will let you know when I find out

WooHoo, that friend has came through. He is getting me a C5 and for free none the less. I know the knife is not worth anything, but it has some value to me. I may not have been mine but its close enough.

Thanks for all the help

We were issued the camillus version. Definitely holds some nostalgic value to me but as a knife I don't have much good stuff to say about it.

I just got it today in mint unsued condition, manufatured in 1983, no scratches, and butterknife dull, Just like I remembered it. There is a touch of rust on the inside, but hey its been sitting in a box at the CanEx for god knows how long. The only difference I can see between the Canadian model and the USA model is that the USA model had USA stamped in the scales were the Canadian model has nothing

Unky,
It doesn't get much better than that! Congrats pilgrim, your journey is over.

Demo Knife. I have 3 of them. All made by Camillius, I dont really care for them for EDC but they do have some sentimental value to me because one of them was my very first pocket knife. My cousin carries one everyday and has as long as I can remember. He was in the Air Force full time.

I have a Camillus MIL-K as well, dated my birth year of 1976. Had to get me one of them since Camillus, to my great sorrow, went belly up and it is such a classic piece of kit. Now as to whether it's a finely made and finished pocketknife.. umm, no. But it has a certain value to me. :)

This is a great thread. Success!

No, they aren't the most elegant knives. Basic pattern is similar to the Swiss Army issue but the workmanship is massive and crude compared to the Swiss. Still, it has always been a military knife and you can imagine what kind of (ab)use it got over the years.

I ordered one while a post office manager for our building engineer and he was very happy with it. It's ideal for all the rough jobs, prying, scraping, hacking at small stuff that no one wants to bust up a good tool on. That's what they were designed to do.
