1987 BUCK 422 bucklite steel?

Just as title reads.... Any know what steel buck used in 1987? Its a model 422 bucklite folder. Black handle material. Its my friends and I don't have any pictures right now. Thanks in advance!

That would be 425M steel. It was used from 81-91. Began to be phased out in 91. DM

Thank you that's what I suspected after reading some old threads .... Actually you were apart of one about a buck 119 I think. I knew there was a gap between 440c and 420hc just wasn't sure when and what steel. Thank you for your response. His 422 seems to be a solid performing knife so far.
