1989 Damascus Anniversary Knife

I just picked up a knife that looks exactly like the 1989 Damascus Anniversary knife. Anyone know the wood used for the scales of this knife?
It is stamped 1989 on the blade and all the markings are similar to other Dam Ann knives I have but it came with no box or paper work and curiously, has no serial number stamped on the bolster. Could it be an imposter?
Does anyone know if Boker ever produced the 1989 without a serial number on the bolster?

Hi, I can't find a pic, but I doubt it is an imposter. The wood used was violeta wood and there were 999 made.
