Hi everybody!

I wanted to share with you my litte treasure. Alfredo Kehiayan is probably the greatest knife maker of Argentina. I collect mainly his knives and a few of the all time classics, like Loveless, S.R. Johnson, etc.

This one was made in 1992 when he was experiencing with titanium. The blade has gold-ish finish. There are only two titanium Kehiayan in existence. Lot of Loveless influence in this one... Hope you like it!

I like it. Close up?

Is it a back pocket sheath? If so that's neat since some US purveyors and makers talk like it's their great idea :)

Glad you like it! yes, it is a backpocket sheath. Alfredo attended to the blade show in 1989 and 1999 and is a good friend of Mr. Joe Cordova. His work is amazing, his grinds and finishes are second to none. He's been making knives since mid 80's and keeps making magic with his 82 years of age. His work is so praised that it is almost impossible to find a Kehiayan in the second hand market. They are very scarce since he's done little over 1800 knives in his entire carrer due to the extensive handwork involved. I can share more of his work if you like!

here are some of my beloved treasures...hope you like 'em!

Pictures are well taken but the do not do justice to the complex deep hollow grinds and crisp, crisp bevels in this knives... they are outstanding. In the fork and knife set everything is hand made, including closing mechanism and hinges.

And a couple of all time classics..

This is the one that's been in my pocket these days..
it is Alfredo's model "K" named after the Ford Ka which was the source of inspiration.
It is made of Krupp 4034 steel 59HRC with interframe inlay of Jacaranda.
The knife is designed for cutting over dishes. You have to cut pulling towards you so only a tiny portion of the tip would touch the dish.

These interframes are beautiful. I still wouldn’t want to drag the tip on ceramic.

Those are the premises of Alfredo's work. Deep mirror polishing with crisp almost "zero" bevels (you can notice that in the bowie picture. Even though is a bad picture, you can see how crisp those bevels are..). Nobody knows how he does that, it's like a business secret.
