? 1993 Buck 110 famous folding hunter

I'm not new to collecting but I did come across a knife in my collection i can't explain. I have a buck 110 dated 1993 on the tang but it shows on the blade its a 25th anniversary from 1963-1988. On the blade in black print it says bucks famous folding hunter 25th anniversary 1963-1988. Shouldn't this knife have been dated 1988 on the tang. Can't seem to find an answer for it. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

If I remember right... They made that knife for about 10 years... So there will be different year marks on the blade...

Here's a really old thread that will give you a bit more info on your knife. I believe Buck simply decided in 1993 to make a knife to commemorate the 50th anniversary even though it was already past. Pretty sure they did a 112 version too even thought the 112 wasn't in production until 1972.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Seems odd they would have made an anniversary knife that long. Its one of my nicer knives. I've had it for about a year. Never noticed the tang stamp was a 93 until recently.

Thanks for the link. Seems they made this knife for awhile after 1988. That's a first for me on an anniversary knife.

The 50th Anniversary 110's will stop being produced at the end of the year according to Buck.
