Hello everyone, I’m new here and am excited to learn from a very knowledgeable community. I recently purchased what I believe to be a rare Case folding hunter. As the title suggest the tang stamp has a lightning bolt for an “A” in USA. Can anyone give me an idea of the rarity and value of the knife. I’d say it’s in excellent not mint condition. I’ll new to do very little cleanup on it to bring it to its best possible condition. I’ll try and upload a photo of the tang stamp. Thank you for your opinions.

You'll need to get a Gold membership to ask about values.

Don't see any A that looks like a lightning bolt.....
A picture of the knife would help quite a but....
Looks like a regular 6 dot production knife from 1994.

Thank you. The article I read said only a few had the lightning bolt. Yes the s pictured above is what I referred to as a lightning bolt.

That is a 1994 built Case Knife, not rare at all (unless it has some type of special handles) but a very solid and traditional hunters knife. They are sought after knives and used for skinning and butchering big game. Welcome to the club! OH

Case knives in the 1980s’, case spelled with the “s” looking like a lightning bolt…chrome vanadium had the same… Starting in 1980, they had Case above xx and 10 dots below, and as the years progressed they reduced by one dot per year as in, 1981 would be a nine dot, so forth descending. A model 6265 folding hunter or clasp knife which is wood or bone for handle for scale material in excellent/ mint condition would be worth $60 to $90 depending on how much someone wanted it-maybe slightly more. They can still be had for $65-75 if you look hard enough, I have found them in this price range. Changing the first digit to “5” makes it stag, and that jumps the value by double in most situations as stag Case knives have always been quite a bit more expensive. If you look at those knife stores in Tennessee and that other place in the “Hills” where “herders” are, you will find a perfect assessment of values I mentioned….cheers
