1993 Victorinox Soldier knife

I have what I believe to be an alox Soldier model from 1993. There is a 93 on the main blade. There is no ring on this model. However there is a tiny lanyard hole. Sorry no pics since I'm away at work. What went in that hole originally? It looks like it was designed for a loop or something like it. If so where can I get one? The hole is way to small for a useful lanyard. Thanks

Victorinox models switched from hollow rivet to solid rivet in 1993, so your Soldier is the "end of an era" :) Wenger, on the other hand, had been using bail/shackle inserted into the hollow rivet all the way until their "Standard Issue" model was discontinued last year. You can model a home-made bail or check in the "Wanted" section to see if anyone would mail you one they are not using. A word of caution - it is very easy to snap the blade on the bail and nick it, so a thin nylon loop might be a better solution.
