1996 A.G. Russell Doctor Knife

I have an A.. G. Russell Doctor knife I bought new. THr tang is stamped with a 1996 date. I can't remember what the blade steel is. I think it was advertised as being ATS-34. Can any one advise me?

I have always found them helpful.
Mr. Russell died recently but his wife, Goldie, and other longtime employees still work there.
