1999 ats-34 710

Looks like it's got another 15 years in it!

I've got a 710 (D2) in my pocket right now.

For being your EDC for 15 years, it looks like you take great care of it

No doubt.
My one and only EDC for the last 15 years looks a little different.

You can't see all the scratches in the pics, but they are there. Yes, I do take good care of my knives as I clean them and touch them up daily. Two or three times a year I break out the semichrome and polish it up.

Great knife, I own one also. A client had a 710HS sitting on his desk; I had never seen a Benchmade before and asked to see it...and which led to my BKC addiction.

...and BTW, Happy Holidays to all of you!

I have a 1999 ATS-34, but with the black coated plain edge blade. It was the first Benchmade I purchased - fabulous knife, then and now.

I own the coated and uncoated 1999 versions. Neither one of them ever made it into the carry rotation. ;)

Funny how that can happen - mine hasn't either, but it has been cycled approximately 3.75 trillion times while watching movies, and never any broken springs!

Picked up one second hand on the exchange a while ago and is now in my edc rotation. One of the few BM's that uses a T15 pivot screw instead of a T10.

That doesn't sound right at all. They have been T8 pivot screws for as long as I can remember.

Just checked the pivot screw, it's a T15.Usually a T10.Being previously owned I'm guessing it may of got swapped but it sure looks right and sits in the G-10.

All my pivots are T10. T8 will work but there's play. I'm going off a set of Wiha Torx. I've checked other sets in the past and T10 it is. Its never neen an issue using a T8 because I don't tighten them down like body screws.
