This whole thing was born over a few drunken evenings during A.G. Russell's show back in July.
I was hanging out with Chad Nichols, Jody Muller and Michael Burch. They were talking Damascus ( like everyone does when they are hangin' with Chad). Of course I always have to get into the middle of a good Damascus conversation.
So, all of a sudden Chad pipes up and suggests that we all come down to his place and do some collaborative Damascus and knife building together.
Budda Bing!!!!! The First Annual Redneck Summit is born!!!!!

This past week we all invaded Chads shop down in Blue Springs Mississippi for the Summit.
It included 5 days of steel making, DRINKING, knife making, DRINKING, eating great food, DRINKING, and just some straight up DRINKING!!!!

Since I got there 2 days ahead of Michael and Jody, Chad and I decided to do our first ever NICHOLS/KELLY COLLABORATION knife.
Then when Jody and Michael arrived we worked on a 2 knife 4 maker collaboration together.
The first ever BURCH/MULLER/NICHOLS/KELLY COLLABORATION set.

Attached are some pictures of the week...

#1 & #2 Chad's Hot Shop
#3 The top secret billets in the fire!!!!
#4 & #5 Chad and I working on parts

Stay tuned for more pix to come !!!

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

I was only able to attend Monday , which was all the time I could spare:(but it was fun.Got the chance to meet and visit with some really talented knifemakers, and work on a knife I was making out of Chad's stainless damsacus. Michael Burch was kind enough to show me how he does his handle texturing on Micarta for the scales on the knife, actually he ended doing most of it with me assisting(thanks Michael)After a few beers that afternoon, the grill was pulled down to the shop and I grilled up some deer kabobs that Jody brought and some pork chops while the damascus squeezing was going on. What little time I spent,I had a great time!!:thumbup:

That looks like fun!

Can't wait to see what you guys came up with...

Sounds like a great time!!!

I can't wait to see what you guys all created!

Here are a couple more pictures of the knife Chad and I worked on together.. I will try and get a couple of the finished knife taken, but we are going to send it off to Coop to get it shot right!!

The project all four of us did together is still top secret until Jody gets done putting his magical embellishments on it!!!
