Hey fellow blade members...

I am new to the blade world...I started with carrying a Swiss army, then got into some cheap eBay crap. Got myself like 10 knives off eBay for a few bucks each..then finally got myself a kershaw assisted, said WOW! So I send all 10pcs of eBay crap back to the seller and said give me credit, less restock fee....

Then one day 3-4am can't sleep, look at ebay search Benchmade...one seller listed a 580 straight edge Barrage....8 of 10 condition, never sharp, never cut other than opening envelopes...for $80 shipped. From my $40 of crap knives credit, I add $40 more and BIN my first ever Benchmade...boy! You cannot believe how happy I was holding this thing! You can give me 1000pcs of eBay crap still cannot equal to 1 lone pcs of Benchmade...I know there are many awesome brand names out there, but for me, a newbie! This is as good as it get...I'm opening this barrage, SNAP!!! Wow!!'

I've been follow many discussion here so I learn a lot!! Thanks guys!!! BTW: I nearly purchase a fake Benchmade last month, but I posted here...and were guided back on track.

Thanks!!

Exactly how I felt when I bought my first benchmade! Now I own 7! They make some awesome designs too! I was looking at the barrage at first but my tastes changed and bought a 943 as my first knife instead. Completely blown away! Enjoy your purchase!

Congrats on the barrage. Your at the right place. I've always wanted the benchmade MPR 755, and that new flipper they made looks awsome. Did you know that benchmade started off making balisongs? I have the bradley mayhem, its made by benchmade and it it one hell of a nice knife.

Congratulations!
Benchmade makes a good knife for sure. Now you'll just want more and then your curiosity will move onto other brands, and before you know it you'll have a small accumulation.
Use them all though! Using knives and playing with them is the best part about owning them. =]

Welcome to Bladeforums, and congrats on the new Benchmade.
Stick around and you'll learn more about cutlery than you imagine could exist .

Congratulations on your initiation! Benchmade's Axis lock was what put me off assisted openers; great design, and nice quality.

Here she is...I'm learning how to tie a paracord too..lol

Funny thing is that I try to thread the paracord lanyard thru the barrage hole, but hole is too small. It's meant for a min 3/16 hole. So what to do? By accident I had some key chain lanyard, I used it to thread thru the hole & tie the paracord thru the lanyard clip...so I find it very easy now to interchange paracords whenever I want by simply detach the plastic clip. Work out good....I think??

Yea...Benchmade likes to put small holes on their knives. Their is way to get a single strand of cord through but it has to be gutted. And your idea seems awesome! A whole lot easier instead of cutting it off or undoing the entire knot. Good thinking!

Here's to blue lanyard, I got 5 for $1 from eBay. I just use the plastic clip to fit the paracord. Works great if any one want a un-gutted paracord. You can swap colors any time...pretty cool.

Once you've owned an axis lock knife, it is really hard to go back to liner locks. They just feel primative. Enjoy your new Benchmade.

Yeah...I'm in SoCal... But the Lakers ain't doing so good of late....

About the paracord...I was bump when I found out the un gutted paracord would not fit thru the common folder hole? Only the gutted cord does, but in real survival situation, we need this 7 strands inside? Or if you were to drop a line from 2 story building, gutted aint going to hold 550lbs...

So by using the plastic clip off....I made it work. I've EDC this way for two weeks & it's fine. No trouble....switch color with a snap.

Diggin the Laker's look on that barrage! Might have to make one myself in that color combo!

How much paracord you need? I just got two of these color in Yellow & Purple in 100ft...I can cut you some so you can make a Lakers Lanyard....seriously
