Hello Everyone

I have been eyeballing a Buck Vantage Select to make my first Buck knife. Mine has blade centered, a bit tight but that's fine, and just feels great in the hand. My requirements were around 30 dollars, thumb hole, USA made, flipper was cool addition, and I wanted a better than liner lock. I get everything I want in the Vantage, except the liner lock.

I've stayed away from them because of better options, but talk me into the Vantage's liner lock! It's my only hold up.

ive had one of those. i gave it to my cousin as a gift and he loves it. about the linerlock i really dont get what you think would be bad about them? only thing i would say that can be bad about a linerlock is that they are most of the time thinner than a framelock and wears a tad faster. but now we are talking steel liners and not titanium so thats nothing to worry about. and add to that a linerlock is really secure otherwise they wouldnt exist. noone would ever make a lock that they knew where bad and could fail. and another good thing is that you get a built in overtravel stop ;)

Whats your hold up? You're not going to accidentally disengage it during usage, and you aren't going to break it. The only lock I've ever had fail was an Endura's back lock, and thats just because it was worn out from years of usage. Power through this dark period, and soon the sun will rise majestically above the horizon.

I have 2 Bucks with liner locks, a Vantage and an Odyssy. They are both as solid as a rock, much more so than you would think by looking at them. You'd have to abuse them terribly (like hammering on them) I think to have any issues.

Yeah I'm keeping it. Been playing with it for a few hours now, can't get rid of it. Pics tomorrow. Thanks everyone.
