I just got my first composite knife yesterday. The composite leek.I'm really happy with it.It looks so darn cool,I can't stop looking at it.It came typical Kershaw shaving sharp out of he box.
Now all I need is the Tyrade & the comp. JYD.
To finish off my leek collection,I'll most definately need the damascus leek.

Once again kudos to Kershaw:thumbup:

Thanks guys,:)

I'll post some pics later here.

Here's a couple pics.I'm sorry but,I totally suck a photography.I got a new camera,but it doesn't seem to make a difference.It's just me:o

JTR, both shots look like there are blemishes on the same spot (middle of the cb) on both sides. Is this your bad photo skillz, or is it in the blade?

Thomas,I'm not really sure how it's supposed to look, but there is a small scratch right next to the USA mark. Also the copper seems to be thinner in the places you mentioned.Good eye.I didn't even notice it.You think it's a problem?
I haven't even used it yet.I don't know how the scratch got there. It's no biggy though.I'm more concerned about the thinner copper line.

I have both a Leek and Tyrade on the way to me and all I have to say is Wow on size difference between the two. I got the Leek as a slim at work EDC and thought of the Tyrade as a out of work carry. I will have to post some pics in hand when I get both.

Side note: Kersahw is making such great limited/short production models it is crazy. I have a Ti/ZDP Mini-Cyclone and it is without a doubt my favorate folder. These composite blades looks amazing and incorporate some interesting ideas. I also love all the framelocks they are coming out with as it is my favorate lock.

Holy freakin heyzeus did I get the CB JYD sharp today. Sharpmaker, 30 degrees, diamond rods, then medium, and minimal fine stones. I look like boy george now...shaved both forearms, and my shins look unnaturally feminine.

Im gonna touch it up a bit more and quick buying razors.

the JYD composite blade is my favorite. I like the puzzle locking seam. I know that may not really add strength but it implies a stronger fit. Anyway, they're all cool... i just get most tempted whenever I see the JYD2 for sale somewhere. It's a nice looking knife with the black g10 and the composite. great price too at around $70 street.

Are composite blades stronger, sharper, longer lasting?? They sure look cool..

from what i understand the point of a composite blade is to artfully (hence the pretty) bring a higher end steel (for cutting) down in price by fusing it with a spine of something more manageable for the mainstream market. so by having CPM D2 on just the cutting surface and 13c26 as the spine the price isnt 100 dollars or so more.

I very much approve of the company taking an interest in the quality, and bringing it up themselves!
