So I'm getting my 1st custom knife built by someone I know a bit from a different organization. I'm adding everything I liked in knives if my past to see if I can get something I like. I'll post pics along the way. The builder is Zachary Cowherd. I asked for a D2 scandi grind 6 " blade with a similar handle to the saker.

The handle looks small make sure it will be big enough so your finger tips do not dig into your palm when you hold the knife. Nice design!

I told the maker my fav carry outdoors is the Saker, the hand is a befier saker handle.quote " A little twist on the saker. Similar handle set to 4 inches for your grip. Thumb rest. Glass breaker or flint cracker. Lines on the blade are to setup my grinds." I gave him my hand measurements. Have small hands I guess.

A lot of times, if I'm making a new pattern, I'll make a corrugated cardboard model You can even layer up the handle and rough shape it. You can really get a good feel for the finished shape. Much easier to shape and tweak a cardboard knife than a real one. I actually keep an eye out for the good cardboard. The stuff with small, fine corrugations is great to use.

It's heavy duty... D2 steel blade. It's a chopper. Berry happy with it over all. I would have liked to see the scales cover the flint cracker a little further down by the hole but overall very happy with it
