Here's my first for the new year. This one is for a client's son to commemorate his making Eagle Scout...hence the sheath.
1075 and blackwood...about my favourite combination. This one should be on display at Little Rock. I'm also hoping to get a pro pic of this one since my limited photography skills can't seem to show the hamon as it looks in the hand. Thanks as well to Dad for the sheath a bit different but hey...its for a scout:) As usual comments/critique welcome.

Very cool, Ben. I love the shape of the guard and handle, looks very comfortable. I also dig what you've done with the choil area, it works really well with the curve of the guard.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the tip. I prefer less belly towards the tip, a much pointier look.

Very nice job....great looking knife and congrats to the new Eagle Scout. :)

Thanks guys. The design was actually a collaberation with the client. He came out to the shop and we worked together on the drawing. The knife is designed to be used as a light camp knife, hence the belly towards the tip.

Very nice knife and the sheath is stunning! I really like how you shape your handles it got such a nice flow to it. I agree with Will Morrison about the tip, but overall a great knife!!

I had the same thoughts as Will. But when a tool is designed for a specific purpose form follows function. Still, I like a pointier tip. ;)

Very nice knife Ben. The curved transition from ricasso to choil works well with the recurve.
David did a great job on the sheath, I like it.

Thanks for sharing.

Chris

The blade and handle profiles along with the guard/choil treatment combine to create excellent flow.
The handle looks so comfortable it makes one want to reach into the photo and grab it. Wicked looking piece.:thumbup::thumbup:

very Nice Ben you got some sweet sweet lines working on that puppy I look forward to seeing you and the knife.

Thanks, y'all. I appreciate the feedback. I'm really looking forward to the show. I have some stuff cookin' that I'm excited about...plus getting to be with friends again. Always fun!

your knife has very appealing lines. In particular, the handle shaping is bold and looks very custom fit. I also enjoy the interaction between the curve of the lower guard and the curved ricasso. That's a great place to totally kill the flow of a knife, but you've created a bit of an eddy there, where it's too easy to build a dam.

That's got a lot of sexiness going on with the slight recurve, the spine, the hamon, the opposite sweeps of the guard, the contours of the handle, and as others have mentioned, the choil area. Excellent job of bringing it all together.

Very, very nice blade.

But I must say that recently bowies from many custom makers seems to look very alike...

Nice blade, Attractive shape, An elegant guarde, the whole forms a beautiful group.....
