hello everyone. my daughter is 13 yrs old, and even though i gave her one of my old small SAK's 4 years ago, it WAS mine, and she deserves her own new one. she has expressed an interest in getting a good pink knife. which victorinox should i get her? please help me decide, and if you have pink vic pics, post away. i do know she doesnt want too large of a model, cause she wants to keep it in her pocket/purse except at school.

I bought my girlfriend a pink alox classic SD which she loves/uses often. But it really depends if shes into the woods, or does she just need it when shes out?

Do a search on eBay for "tie dye" and "edelweiss." Oh, and "Victorinox," of course. You'll spy some might cool Classics and Ramblers.

Are you only looking to get her a SAK? Another great option would be the Squirt P4 by Leatherman. I simply cannot say enough good things about this little tool, especially for its size. It comes in pink as well. I have one (in grey, not pink) and it rides with my keys every day.

thanks guys. yep, ebay has been my main reseasrch for over 10 years. thanks for the idea of the squirt. that gives me more options.

i just wanted her to have one, she is already pretty responsable for a 13 yr old, but i know a knife/tool that you carry helps in many ways.

responsable

response

independence

have-not need, better than not have

cool factor.

A multitool for a woman or girl doesn't have to be pink. Believe it or not, most females actually like other colors as well (and BTW, could it be that some guys are fond of pink?).

IMHO, all Leatherman Squirt colors are really nice, any of them acceptable to just about any woman. My wife has a red S4 she uses often. She has never expressed an opinion about the color. Personally, I don't think she cares in the least.

^ your correct, But, she was with me at a flea market when i was checking out some old knives, and she came to me and ask if she could get one in pink. we did see one, (she saw it and ask to see it), it was a POS, with no lock pocket knife, so i told her of the disadvantages of a first knife not having a lock. then we had a long safety session/talk about how NOT to use a blade without a lock. luckily for me 7 or 8 years ago i taught her.......

always cutaway from you, never toward you. she still remembers that.

ebay turned out tons of pink knives-multitools-SAKs. so, it looks like we are going to the sportinggood stores and maybe even a few hardware stores soon.

I'm guilty of cutting towards myself, but it's always controlled. I don't do it often, unless it's needed. But good for teaching her. One thing i find a lot of people don't know is that a knife isnt' a screw drive or pry bar!

You can get a Pink Classic for sure, and I seem to remember seeing a Pink 84mm Vic as well. Either a Recruit or a Tourist IIRC.

Just remembered you can also get a pink 'pinstripe' Spartan as well.

For women the Leatherman Squirt seems to be the favorite. Not with the pliers, though.

Get the one with scissors. Nurses and school teachers love them.

The pink Leatherman Squirt S4 and the pink Victorinox Classic SD are also my recommendations. The Victorinox SwissCard and the new Leatherman Style is also available in pink:

How 'bout one of these? :D
Too big?
Too flashy?
Hell yeah! She'd love you for ever and ever but maybe this would make a better present in a few years time. It's a spyderco Manix 2 and I sure can't wait until mine arrive(not pink of course!!!).
Best,
Gabriel.

thanks guys. yea, maybe i am being to politicly correct trying to push a "friendly tool" on her first...lol. maybe a real knife would be a better choice. we only had time to get to one store today, and they didnt even have leathermans, or Vics. danggit. but, it is her choice on the pink, thats what she wants, 2nd choice is a sort of blue teal.

IMHO, much more useful than a regular SAK :/

Kabar has a couple of pink lock blade folders that aren't too expensive. I bought one for each of my daughters.
