Not perfect, but it turned out a lot better than I figured it would, for my first hollow ground blade. Had to use the 5" serrated wheel, as my 12" wheel wouldn't track properly. :grumpy:
But, this one should make a heck of a shop knife. 1084 tool steel, 1" wide x 3/16" thick. Gave it a 15 minute soak at 1485 and full quench into Parks 50. I have no doubt this one got harder than a wood pecker's lips!
Did a quick 1 hour temper(bedtime, ya know) and stuck it in the freezer overnight(what the heck, it won't hurt, right?). Two more longer tempers to do today and I'll finish it up. No fancy finish on this one. Just gonna clean up the bevels and false edge a bit and wrap some 550 cord or leather shoestring around the handle and cut stuff with it.
