It's heavy.
Very solid, and heavy.
Seems to be very strong and inspires confidence in a way that most multi-tools don't.

The ruler is a nice feature and the handles can be extended so that the ruler lies nice and flat.

The handles are nearly 4.5" long and afford a full-size grip giving plenty of leverage for the pliers.
The pliers are not true needle-nose and are shorter than those of my Gerber Pro-Scout.
They also don't open as wide as the Gerber's (Pro-Scout=2", SwissTool=1.5" at the tips).

All of the tools lock and there is no clumping when selecting a tool.
However, the nail-nicks are somewhat old-fashioned and can sometimes be difficult to access (folks with large fingers might have some trouble).

The main blade is typical of Victorinox and is probably the best plain-edge blade of any multi-tool.
The serrated blade, while not quite as perfected as Spyderco's, is still rather effective.
The woodsaw performs just like all Victorinox woodsaws: fantastic!

I also give praise to Victorinox for offering a strong phillips screwdriver with a reasonable length (I'm tired of stubby screwdriver bits).

The reamer/awl seems to be very strong, but I don't think that it is as well designed as the one on the Victorinox Soldier.

The chisel/wirestripper tool looks very interesting and I look forward to seeing how it performs.

The large screwdriver also doubles for what Victorinox calls a "strong crate opener". I don't know if it can open a strong crate, but it does seem very stout and strong and should make a decent prybar.

The metal file/saw is typical Victorinox fare, which is to say it does work but it is'nt as nice as the ones by Leatherman.

There are also the familiar screwdriver/bottle-opener and screwdriver/can-opener tools that are found on most Vic SAKs.

Overall, the SwissTool is a fine example of Swiss engineering and percision--it is virtually flawless.
I cannot help but be impressed with how well this multi-tool is thoughout, designed, and executed--Victorinox got it right the first time!

I think that the SwissTool is just a little on the heavy side to be an EDC, but for the backpack, tackle-box, or truck console, I don't think you can find a better multi-tool.

Allen.
