This is a knife I just finished up. Too many things I'm not happy with to mention about this knife but I wanted to try my hand at posting pictures on here and this is what I have available.

Thanks.

Let's try this again. By the way, this is my 6th knife I have made. How long before I have to stop using that ("this is my XX knife") as an excuse for the mistakes?

it looks great! wanna see my first knife? its crap! havnt even made one in that matter :)

Shawn need a back shot. is it full tang hidden tang??? You went for the hard way starting off with copper. Mike

This one is a full tang, not tapered. I have some blades finished that still need handles that are tapered tangs.

I really like the way copper looks and have it on several of my knives from other makers but this is really my first time using it. It's not as easy as I thought it would be. I had to fashion a pin from a piece of ground rod wire and getting the scratches out has been a bear.

Here is a shot of it from the back.

That little knife say's lets go shoot some quail and stop by the creek and gets some steelhead to take home.

I can see a few things that could be improved upon but I do like the knife very much. I think the design is great! I would try it again if I were you. I would buy it as is, but with a little tweeking you could have a great little knife.
What are the specs?

There are things that the pictures don't show that I'm not happy with. I wouldn't be willing to sell something like this. I do want to try this pattern again though. Hopefully I can get it better next time.

Specs are:
OAL = 6 7/8"
blade = 3 3/8" (guard to tip)
handle = bocote
steel = ATS-34
copper guard, mosaic pins

hollow grind, full tang

Thanks for the encouraging words. Original, thats probably one of the best compliments I've gotten on anything I've made. Thanks.

That is the perfect size for EDC and especially for bird and trout. Looks good. Of course there are things you're not happy with but the fact that you realize those things is all that matters, you'll do them better next time. By the way I'm in that same position myself working on my 6th right now.

Good job and keep it up.

Charlie

You are off to a good start and part of the process is to recognize problems and to make the next one better. The process goes on forever but the product improves as well as the satisfaction of making the knife. I agree with Todd welcome to the insanity.

Welcome to knifemaking, one tends to be self critical, but that's just the way knifemaking is.
