I've been a long time viewer of bladeforums. Have got lots of tips and useful information here. Decided I should become a member. My collection of great knives is growing thanks to y'all! Planing on becoming a paid member as well. Over the past 6 months I've bought a ZT0560, PM2 and a dragonfly 2. All great knives. Hoping I can snag a 0801cf soon and also thinking of buying a couple esee fixed blades as well. Pry a izula and a 5. Or maybe the 4 and 6. Havnt decided yet. Never owned an esee knife. Are they a good place to start? I know a little bit about folders but not so much on fixed blades. Maybe y'all can help be there. Anyway just saying thanks to everyone who's helped me pick out some good knives! See ya!

Welcome aboard.
Sounds like your off to a good start as to fixed blades esee's are a very good place to start as are Becker's the bk11 or bk16 and 17 are Great ones to begin with, then f you have a bigger budget try busse, swamp rat. Bark River
After a bit you'll go custom and some of the makers on this forum are very very good.
You'll find endless choices as you go along.

Welcome you should try out a 0770CF as well since you seem to like ZTs. As for a fixed blade look into Bark River Knives they make fixed blades in like 20-30 models, many great steels, and hundreds of handle materials. They are my favorite fixed blade company by far but be prepared you by for what you get. Made in Michigan

Thank you both for the tip on other brands of fixed blades.. I hadn't looked at Busse or Bark River yet. Gonna check out Bark River now as I was born and raised in MI but now live in the mountains of Virginia. As for the 0770cf. I've been waiting for that to come out for awhile cause I didn't like the aluminum version. Havnt found any in stock anywhere tho. Its not a limited run is it?

Welcome! Esee is a great place to start, but you may find yourself lusting after a bark river....

Welcome Slice:thumbup: Looks like you've got a good grip on what you like. Post pictures when time allows...

To answer your question, no . . . the 0770CF is not a limited run. But ZT seems to have sold through the stock it allotted to their dealers rather quickly. You can buy one directly from the manufacturer at full price. But I'd suggest you wait until the dealers get their 0770CFs back in stock and save $45 to $50.
