I'm interested in purchasing a Mnandi this year but can't quite decide which inlay looks the best(I know-they all look great and I should get one of each). Since I have not seen any in person, I am asking the experts on this forum which option they prefer. I'm leaning towards snakewood but also like the zebrawood and bocote. I have a William Henry lancet in black palm and like that a lot too. Throw in the mammoth ivory and the choice gets more difficult. If anyone has any insight please help!!! or else I may have to by them all!:D  Thanks for your help-Tony

Hi & Welcome to the forum

Frankly speaking whichever you get be sure it'll be beautiful piece of knife. Personally I really like snakewood, however blackwood is also very nice and somehow worm. I'd go with either of them. You'll end up with more than one anyway ;)

Don't have the Mnandi, but do have a large classic in snakewood and would have to say that it is very cool. I've had a bocote and it is also nice, but the snakewood.............  :D

I am not a big fan of wood inlay, so I special ordered on with Cape Buffalo Horn inlays.

As I am also a man that appreciates contrast, I got one in Mammoth Ivory (creamy yellow/white - no bark ivory for me).

They sit side by side in my display case and get rotated regularly.

I like the African Blackwood Inlay. To m e it gives the Mnandi an "old style" pocket knife look. I've had the Bocote Inlay on a couple of Mnandis but it's a little too light for my blood.

What about this?

very nice darkblue- I like the Damascus blade too-Hmmm-something else to think about!!! All of the replies have been very helpful(I now know I want them all:D )Thanks to all who have replied and keep 'em coming. Thanks-Tony

I have a small Sebbie in zebrawood and my wife's is snakewood, both are absolutly beautiful woods and you wouldn't be dissapointed with either. Just decide if you want light or dark wood.

Thanks to all for your opinions-I just ordered a snakewood Mnandi with a reptillian damascus blade-I'm sure the wait will be worth it:D This is my first Chris reeve knife but I'm sure not my last! Did I hear someone say Sebenza???;) Thanks again-Tony:cool:

Are you sure you heard somebody say Sebenza?.....Here??:D
Congrats on the Mnandi. I'm sure you're going to love it. As for a Sebenza, all you have to decide is large or small...regular or classic???? Maybe one of each size?
Welcome to the madness.;) :p

Excellent jivedaddy ! You won't be disappointed ! Post pic's when it comes in. :)

Scott Dog. . .love the inlays on the bottom one !

Good choice. I had a snakewood Mnandi, and was very pleased with it. I currently own a walnut inlay model, which is also very nice. Actually, pretty much any kind of inlay looks good on the Mnandi. I really don't think it's possible to make a mistake.

Congrats!! Be sure to post a pic or two after it arrives. We can't get enough CRK eye candy around here. ;)
