After losing my buck 110 that I'd had for about 35 years I figured it was time for a new woods knife. Not really a knife enthusiast, I bumbled around the net and then in to you guys. Read just about every post on this forum, and got myself a BK2. Absolutely love it.
Stripped the blade but left the coating everywhere else. I'd like to replace the screws with either slotted or phillips as I am more likely to have a driver for these handy. I've heard of 10-24 and/or 10-32 x 5/8 being used. Does it matter which?
Also thinking about a paracord wrap or something, maybe with a backer, to take some flop out of the sheath. Anybody fooled with that?
That's it! The thing is wonderful right out of the box.
I want to thank you all for the wealth of enthusiasm and knowledge that is shared here. Really appreciate it.

Glad you see you like your new blade. The BK2 can do anything you want it to, and its an outstanding woods knife.

No idea about the screws, but I'd love to hear that too.

About the sheath. The easiest thing to do to make the sheath stiffer, is to slip a defunct credit card or something like that down at the bottom of the sheath strap (so it touches the rivets), and then sew in the top really tight around that credit card. You can then sew in the sides, or use something like a ranger band (strip of a bicycle tube) to keep it in. I did that to my drop leg sheath, and it really stiffened it right up.

And also... we need photos :).

ya 10-24x 5/8 length is stock and 24 vs 32 just means 32 has finer (more) threads in an inch (i believe correct me if im wrong) but i believe its 32 threads in an inch...

It worked. Good. I'll get some more up after I get to Lowes for some hardware. Great FAQ on this btw.

Welcome, I have only been here a short time and surfing these forums will cause a depletion in your bank account. I just picked up a bk2. I love it.

Thanks everybody! Agree with all on the nature of this crowd:) I got my screw mod done but haven't done anything about the sheath. Anybody know right quick what size tek lok to get for the 2's sheath? I'm gonna do a little testing week after next and I know, I know, I know, pics will be posted then. I'm gonna get a week in the woods. As far as havoc to my wallet a 14 is on the way....
