1st Post...Saying Hello

I've lurked for a while and this is my first post. Of course I love knives, or I wouldn't be here. Must have well over thirty knives of various types (hope the wife doesn't see this), but don't really collect knives. Anything that I have purchased was purchased for use in one way or another. My daily companion is a Spyderco having G-10 scales...but I am unsure of the model number.

I have put handles on several knives as gifts for others, but have not ventured further into knifemaking than that. Several friends/aquaintances make custom knives (Yerian and Murtha) and Darrel Ralph lives just "up the road", but I have never met him.

We usually hike in the Smokies each spring and I always manage to visit SMKW and usually come away with a new folder and other goodies. Anyway, wanted to say hello and that I'll be chiming-in now and again on various topics. Great Forum!

You don't have to be a maker or a collector here.
You can get good information here on care of knives, which ones to avoid, which ones to buy, and many more unrelated subjects, as well...

I've got news for you - you do! ;) As with so many others, you have the basic sickness but you do need to be diagnosed correctly and prescribed a program of therapy. Well, this is the place! Welcome! :)

Don't worry, just install the special spouse blocking tool that comes in the Gold Box. ;) . Kidding aside, enjoy your stay. This is a pretty good group of guys here.
