Soooo, I just wanted to step out of lurker status and thank everyone for all the help I found on the forums while making my second knife. It started with my mother in law giving me a Helle blade blank and asking me to use my woodworking skills (the Morris chair in the background of the one pic is by me) to make her a handle for it. I think it turned out ok. It's not balanced worth a lick and I think I pulled half my hair out making it but I'm hooked! I can't wait to make another one! I've already purchased a used Coote grinder (much to my wife's dismay) and I'm in the process of setting it up. So again, thanks to all of you on the forums because every time I needed guidance at a sticking point there was someone on here that had the answer I needed.

Welcome to the forum Deus. Your first knife may not be well balanced, but its a good looker.
