This was a customer request that I was really pleased with. This bowie has a 6 1/4" blade of hand-rubbed 5160 steel, multi-edge quenched (like normal). The knife has an 11 1/2" total length. The handle has a curled ring guard and pommel of 160 layer high carbon damascus steel (1084/15N20/L6) with a wolf's paw carved into the pommel cap. The handle itself is stabilized/dyed green and gold Maple Burl wood with stainless steel pins and black spacers. The tooled "top flap" blade sheath Tess did for this one has a wolf & raven carving in the leather. Kind of a Native American/Celtic cross-over. The knife balances perfectly right on the ring, as it should be.

ps i just got dinged for posting in shoptalk instead of the galery  (do you see anything wrong with that??) :(

Well the knife sucks, but the sheath is beautiful. Tess sure knows her stuff.

Thanks guys. This gentleman came up with a really nice handle set-up. I had free rein on the blade and how to do the guard but, it was really the customers creation. The paw was somthing I've done on stag crowns before but, never in steel. I was pretty happy with it. Tess's carvings are just out of this world (in my opinion). I'm going to have to make up a book just of those. Now I want to do a ring guard in wrought iron....maybe for Blade?
:D
Thanks again.

ps- Bill you crack me up!

Beautiful job on both knife and sheath! I really like that gaurd, and the pommel is a nice touch. Tess, the carving on the sheath is awsome! Way to go, both of you!
