Added my first CRK knife to the collection today. Picked up a brand new large N.I.C.A. Tanto Sibenza for $250.00. Just to revel in the smokin' deal I drove across town to look at an identical one with a $450.00 price tag on it. While at that shop I did pick up a new CRK black sheath to go with it. It makes for a real nice package and I can't wait to put it to work as my new EDC.

Wow that is a great deal! If it was brand new the shop was desperate to sell it and lost money. The Knife Shop is a chain here in AZ that is NICA authorized and most of them still have that knife in stock. It's difficult to sell a $450 knife in a mall... but that reminds me I should go buy it!

This was a small shop, as in not a chain store, and I'd have to say that it had a few birthdays in their store so that it came under the catagory of money spent a long time ago. They had it priced at 350.00 and then marked down for Christmas, I assume, to 265.00 and I got the no tax cash deal on it which brought it to right at 250.00 plus tax. I would never have bought a tanto but that is what the deal was on. The CRK sheath that I got for it may grow on me in time but while it is a neat looking and well made design it leaves a little bit to be desired in functionality. The set up for horizontal carry looks to be a bit of a nightmare to use and even the vertical set-up looks like it is going to be a hassle until broken in. I have to agree with some of the other guys here in that I think they should've made a large and a small sheath instead of the one size fits both with the extra snap, kind of lame especially in a $45.00 sheath for your $300.00+ knife, but oh well.

I really like my NICA tanto. It's a limited edition of 200. I bought 3 at full price (all left handed). But there seems to be a lot around I don't know why they are not as popular as I thought they would be.

Probably tanto blades aren't that popular among real users.

I love my NICA sebs, there was a good deal on the forums recently, but I had already spent my dough.

What defines a real user?

Tanto blades aren't that great when it comes at slicing since the flat belly makes it very hard to do precise cuts. The tip is stronger but a sebie is not made for stabbing things . I would love to own a sebie nica tanto specially for that price, but they are not knives that you can expect a turnaround on your money. I would still take my regular or classic for EDC over the tanto but having a nica is also special. I would recommend a classic you will see why people like them so much. I would see that people buying them more as collection item than user. I had a MT socom Tanto and that wasn't very nice at cutting things, even not as sheeple friendly as a regular blade be.
