1st Whittler

What a wonderful whittler. Very solid looking with superb filework and beautiful stag. You did a great job on that one.

I think I could look at your filework for hours and not get bored. What great detailing and planning! I've never seen any better!:)

Thanks!!!

Just for the curious--how much time is spent on planning and cutting/finishing your filework compared to the making of the whole knife?? I think I will be surprised....

AHHHHH the split backspring :) My favorite of all the classics !!

WOW! I've been eyeing a custom whittler for a long time, and it looks like may have just found the man to do it! That knife is truely beautiful. The filework, the stag... it just all takes your breath away.

I second that emotion. The file work is just beautiful. The whole package is a show :D stopper.

That sure is sweet. Lots of nice touches including those curved bolsters. Real beautiful job Dwane.

Thanks for showing it to us.

Now about that Dr. knife you have been wanting to do :D.

Duane,

You Rock on the filework. I see why LD came down to learn from you. That is outstanding.

Thanks guys for all the kind comments, Coop, to answer your question, I drew a few scetches, took maybe an hour to decide how I was going to do it, then roughly 10 hrs maybe a little more. I spent a couple of weeks working on the knife here & there, I was working on some others at the same time. I had to keep Bill Ruple on the phone quite a bit getting help. Hopefully the next one won't take as long.

Bastid, I'm cutting some liners out now & will be starting the doctors knife here in the next week or so. Yall take care, Dwayne

I know that I'm just repeating what everyone else said, but that whittler of yours is one awesome looking knife. You simply did spectacular filewoork and your split backspring is a work of art. The only thing I would have prefered would have been visible pins in the stag scales, but that is a matter of personal taste.

Thanks Laaaaaaaaaaarrrrrry, You've been putt'n out some nice stuff yourself lately. Hope everything is going your way. Take care, Dwayne
