Recently used my 1x30 to clean up some very nasty rusted up knives for a neighbor and I tried using the top wheel to clean up the spine it was far too bumpy and unforgiving to actually use it

Is there any small rubber wheels that I can get to replace it?

Checked it, but I don't have one of the E-clip tools to remove the wheel from the bearing. So, I put a belt on it, ran it and used some sand paper on a stick to try and even out the high spots on the wheel, it is a crude method of course, but it did seem to run a little smoother after I was finished. A rubber wheel would provide a little more give and less chatter...I'll have to get one of those E-clip tools, should have one around anyways I suppose ;)

I have not tried this but would a wide rubber band on the existing wheel work. I think the rubber bands they use for broccoli are about the right size.

That’s a good suggestion I’ll give that a try
