Decided to clean up my Sandvik Boys axe and remove the orange paint. It had a lot of surface rust and figured this would keep better.

Before:

After:

Also picked up some handles from J. Hollywood Edge Co.: A 36" octagonal db and a 32" racing axe handle:

They look really nice.

I love that Sandvik, Cooper.

Do you mind posting the eye dimensions of that racing handle???

Thanks!

What measurements do you want? where should I take them.

I was wondering the length of the eye in the direction from bit to poll and the width of the eye. I'm also wondering if it will fill the eye of my jersey which is a little over 4" from the bottom of the lugs to the top of the eye.

Clear as mud????

It terms of overall length. It's about 4 3/8" from the shoulder of the axe handle. Not terribly long IMO.

Length of eye from bit to poll is 2 5/8".

Width. Looks like a little less than an inch at the widest point.

Thanks a bunch. Sounds like it may just be a perfect fit to my 4.5lb jersey.

Good stuff, man. My racing handle just showed up today from Jhollywood, but it's bent as hell. Not happy in the slightest with it. Hope I can exchange it for something like yours. Well done!

Thanks.

Be interested to know how they respond.

Nice work on that Sandvik, looks like it will be a useful tool. That racing axe looks like the bottom half is unfinished. Is that standard procedure on their racing axe or did you request that?

We will be happy to exchange it at our cost. Just replied to your email. I typically inspect all the handles that I receive but since we just moved that one got by me.
