Watched the news tonight and saw that Sadamm's 2 boys got tagged today. Way to go 101st :D :D Keep up the great job. I wonder if there were any Busse's there?

Ya know, I was outside working and I was sure I heard the sound of a large toilet flushing...

Bummer days for the Hussein family. Kinda puts a damper on the whole family reunion thing they had planned for the end of summer in Syria!!! ;)

Yeah! I bet the festivities will be somewhat subdued! Nice work 101st!:D

I'm normally not the kinda guy to wish bad upon anybody, but those clowns got what they deserved. It would have been better to capture and torture them, of course. Believe me, they knew where their Father and the weapons were.

Dambo,
That wouldn't be the same Belleville as Belville Shoe Company, would it?? If so, you might be my new best friend! :)

The media's anti-USA, anti-Bush spin machine has started up already.
In a news briefing this morning, the reporters were dwelling heavily on the failure-to-capture angle. One guy even asked that, given the fact that "the US military specializes in surrounding a house and waiting the occupants out for days" (this snotty remark showed where he was coming from), and that those inside were armed with "only four AK-47's", and the US had an overwhelming superiority in personnel and weapons, "shouldn't this operation be considered to be a failure?" They can't wait to try to turn a victory into a defeat.

Disgusting and unbelievable! I believe that these guys being dead is a much superior outcome. Can you imagine the media circus, the U.N. wanting to get involved, the international arguments over custody and jurisdiction, the international stage that would have been handed to these guys?

Did anyone else notice that the world felt a little cleaner this morning?

Yes, it is the same Belleville. But, you can't be my best friend, unless you know how to spell my name properly! :D

Danbo,
CURSES!! Foiled again by my public edumacation and crappy typing skills... Hmmmm there wouldn't happen to be a Bellevile Shoe outlet where they sells blems and seconds.... would there????

I am not sure why the media is upset... they ARE in custody! :) Let Allah worry about their rights. They now have the right to remain silent, they have the right to never torture bound victims, they have the right to not exploit their fellow men/women for their pleasure/gain, they have the right to all the virgin goats they can catch...

I think a regret will be that die-hards will now consider them martyrs against the great American satan.

Besides, they went out way to fast. Too bad they couldn't experience one fraction of the suffering they inflicted on others.

Might have been better if they were captured, tried, convicted, humiliated, and left to rot in one of their own jails.

It doesn't matter. If they were left alive, rumor would have made them supermen and celebrities. Since we killed them, they will be martyrs. IMO, a dead martyr is far better than a live superman when you are talking bad guys.

Unfortunately, recent history has not made that particular result scenario a likely outcome. More likely, the whole thing would have been a media circus, in tandem with civil unrest in terrorist countries ending in a possible conviction and a cushy and humane prison sentence in some posh cell in a civilized nation.

In short, it is a better result that these yo-yos are dead. Could we have captured them... maybe. Some people will not be taken captive. But even if we could have, the effort and potential loss of American lives are and were not worth the benefit of capturing two guys who likely would have provided overlapping intel under interrogation.

Better to let the martyrs send a message.

Amen Les, amen.

If you are on the Sh!t list, and you fire a shot at our soldiers, you are a dead man my friend. Why would you want to take them alive, besides to torture them a while. Anyway, I've heard that no one there knew who was inside besides that they were "high ranking Baath party members".

Oh, believe me, Les, I completely agree that it doesn't matter much at all. I was only remarking and wondering if bands of zealous wackos would find these deaths a rallying point. It doesn't seem to take much to set off a bunch of nutballs these days. Fanatics should consider themselved well and truly warned. You have to be very careful when you piss off a big bear like the US.

... and on the 8th day, He invented the TOW, and proclaimed it good. :D
