Thinking about wanting to buy a knife and this is what happens:

This was a $8 kitchen knife that wasn't being used .... but now :)

That's pretty cool! I thought about doing the same thing with one of my old carbon steel kitchen knives that has a broken tip. You've inspired me to start a new project, now I just have to find the damn thing.

I need to stay on a lead ... and not touch my carbon steel blades.

Next is the 1/2 hour sheath ... just to finish the job off.

WTF!!!

Mate you moderators ... this is a bush nife for crying out LOUD!!!

SOME FRIKKEN OTHER THREADS ON THE WSS FORUM FOR SURE NEED TO BE RELOCATED .... THIS IS THE THIRD TIME YOU GUYS HAVE DONE IT TO ME AND ALL MY THREADS HAVE BEEN RELATED TO WILDERNESS SURVIVAL!!

WHY HAVE YOU GOT IT IN FOR ME???

I'VE ALWAYS FOLLOWED THE RULES ... BEEN NICE TO EVERYONE ... STICK TO THE POINT ...

WHY KEEP RELOCATING MY THREADS THAT ARE FRIKKEN WILDERNESS AND SURVIVAL BASED!!!

For what it's worth, I recognized that you made yourself a new bushcraft knife without you having to spell it out.

looking good. A thin knife like a kitchen knife would make a great bushcraft knife. Make for great slicing action.

Probably because it has more to do with tinkering and embellishment then the wilderness or survival? Now if you showed it being used or something?

I don't think throwing a fit is going to help your cause. Probably should email the forum moderator or post in the service and support forum if you have an issue. I doubt it is being done just to wad up your drawers.

Thanks for the nice words.
Poking a knife without a blemish into a log doesn't make a survival knife.
I'm a survivor so thats why I'm making a noise ... fighting to the bitter end, thats why I don't quietly roll over.
This is about being treated fairly.

Actually I do see more "tinkering" than I do "wilderness and survival skills"

Nice mod though. Maybe go all the way and remake some nice handle slabs :)

Nice mod. That handle looks more ergonomic than a lot of handles I see. It also looks better suited to smaller hands.

I didnt get the wilderness and survival feel from your thread, so go easy on the mod's. I do like what you did with your new wilderness survival knife though.

Thanks fellas, Now I've cooled down a little I'll try and open my eyes.
I cut the blade up with a 3" angle grinder with the really skinny cutting disk and a wet rag. For sure the scales need replacing and I'm looking at it now.
The actual knife is quite large and I'm not a small bloke either ... riding motorcycles all my life makes my hands a little larger too. Let me know if you want an update on the mods. The blade is thicker than it looks too being 3mm thick.
There's a lot to learn for me so thanks for your time.

Here's how I see it.....it was a large kitchen knife, now it's a smaller kitchen knife.
Good job of tinkering, however.
