I have not been able to work on knives very much lately or post here in a long time. But here are my most recent two that were at the Arkansas show
Let me know what you guys think! the second knife was kind of an experiment so I would LOVE to hear your thoughts, good or bad. I was kind of excited about it. my inspiration was from the statue of liberty and seeing old pennies that had turned green.
Enjoy!!!
1) 13 inch blade. angel trumpet flower carved ironwood bronze guard bowie with a no clay hamon.
This bowie is actually my very first real bowie knife. I have never made a bowie with this style clip before. I usually don't add any style clip on top but I am now liking the design more and more.
2) this bowie is over 12 inch cutting edge with green patina bronze guard and carved maple burl wood. no clay hamon.
It was kind of funny at the show, I was asked at least 15 times if the handle was stone because of the color/shine.
I was trying something new with the type of patina on the guard and am very pleased with how it came out. I am going to explore this type of patina more in the future for sure!
