2 blade w/coping blade?

I'm looking for suggestions on a 2 bladed knife with a coping blade on one side. I have a Buck deuce, but it has 2 main problems.
#1. It's made in China. Normally I can deal with that, but it has some side to side play I don't think the American made version has.
#2 when closed it's the size of my pinky. Good for pocket space, but so small I have trouble with bigger sized apples and such.
I'm thinking my best bet is a bigger sized Congress w/coping blade, but if I could find something like the deuce, but a bit bigger, that would be ideal. I mostly want it for whittling and dress occasions.

How about a Churchill? I'm not an expensive enough member to offer to sell you mine, but I'm pretty sure they haven't sold out yet on the primary market.

What about a half congress?

Here is one as the lower knife in the photo, the top is a regular congress. A half congress is usually around 3" long. I have not seen one with a coping blade though the sheepsfoot blade they do have is not much different. I find the half congress to be one of the most useful small knives, I don't use this one but I have a schrade cut co that I use occasionally.

Another vote for the Churchill. Sheepfoot is very thin (good for whittling!), and it carries nice and slim.

Case has a nice looking half congress (as Paul suggested above) but I haven't ordered myself one yet. If you could put up with an extra blade the Case seahorse whittler is a sweet looking pattern that I have been meaning to try as well.

I think what you are looking for is a GEC 33 with a coping secondary. Unfortunately they are about as rare as hens teeth.

You might be better off finding a nice knife with a sheepsfoot secondary and paying someone to grind it into a coping. That would open your world is to all kinds of patterns.

I'm a big congress fan, if you can come across a Hen and Rooster half congress (pre 1980 model), I can promise it would make you very happy.

If you can deal with an extra blade these turn up. I found the 33 whittler on the exchange today.

I have this Carl Schlieper stag from Solingen, Germany. It might not meet your size requirement, just shy of 3 1/2 inches closed. Easy on the pocket.

(ps. apologies, just realised this is an old thread).

I've searched high & low and can't find a new one ... are you talking the secondary market or do you have another source ? I'd love an ebony #35 ...

That was a year and a half ago. Most new models are available from dealers for maybe six months after release.
