I have a NIB BUCK "Ecco" 3.0 double bladed folder. I aquired this knife in a multi-knife trade. It has the following catalog numbers on the end of the box: B275-BK-0 CAT# 5090. I had never even seen this knife before but admittedly I am not an Expert on BUCK at all. It seems like a quality built knife like all BUCKs are. Even though I do have a few BUCKs in my collection they are probably the more popular ones. I would appreciate any feedback or you can PM me. :)

I picked up a 2.25 in a similar manner. Mine is made in Japan. Some of them are made in the USA. Seems to be a strong knife and I like the versatility of the dual blades. Locks up tight.

I REALLY like the big flat space on the liner locker. Sure makes it easy on the thumb when closing versus the shallow ridge of some of the others I have.

Mine has BUCK molded in the handle and under it is a molded sword. The handle of the sword is letters that look like SEKIDER
but very hard to read.

A cool little knife to have in the collection.

Hello,
I checked the computer and there were about 10,000 made from 2001 to 2003. The handles are a glass filled Zytel material. Some were made in Japan as a kind of colaboration effort.
It really is a nice little knife.
Hope this helps,

Hello Joe Houser. Thank you for the info on the knife. I am not a Buck collector per se but I do agree with you that the knife is not a bad knife at all. It's funny though because it is one BUCK that I had trouble finding out anything about it. Also I wonder if anyone knows whether the BUCK sharpening devices are bring any collector value? Thanks Joe for the info :)

Info is a little short on these knives as that there were so few made. IMHO, they didnt catch on partly because of the lack of a clip. There is some info here on the forum . Just search for ECCO. I have the 2.25 from both the USA and Japan. Top quality on both.

I have 2 Ecco's,and I'm not parting with either,if anything I'd like to add another one or two.I like their feel ,the lock-up,and the fact I have a PE blade and a serrated.I don't know about anybody else. But there are times when I need a serrated and nothing else will do.

Wow! I just traded the BUCK Ecco 3.0. and now I am finding out that it was sort of collectible. A day late, a dollar short maybe? Well now I at least know that it is one to look out for. The one I traded was a "Made In Japan" version. I am wondering if the "Made In U.S.A." version is more collectible? I am guessing it is. Thanks for the info guys. :)

Probably six of one ,half dozen of the other.. The trick is to get both models.

I have carrier one in my possibles bag since, IIRC, 2001.

Joe, if you are still around, what steel was used in these?

As I recall, the Japan models were AUS 6 and the USA were 420HC.

Hi All ...
I owned one of these knives until I lost it ... retailers here in the UK have
Stopped stocking it .... If any one has one for sale or knows where
I can get one ... I would appreciate a response to my email address.

Regards

I have one putaway that I have never carried. Picked it up last year at a flea market for less than $15.00 with box.

I have the 3.0 and a 2.5 put away. Coleman made a copy of these that seems to be a pretty good knife. I carry one in my truck. Has come in handy numerous times.

I rate these as "sleepers" among collectables.

Are you offering this for sale ??

The-brigadier, if this was for me and you are in the U.S. It is not for sale but if you want it as a gift, it is yours. Send me a PM,VM or e-mail me at truckflap at a0l.com.

It is the Japanese made one.
